With this water softener it makes the clothes feel much softer. It also makes it where I have no water spots in the showers or on the dishes and the dishwasher.

Bought the GXSH45V to replace an old Culligan from the late 70s/early 80s. Obviously, this is much better. Its only been installed a bit over 1 month, but so far is doing what it should be doing. I do wish it had a backlight on the led screen. Other than that, no issues.

I had a problem with my previous GE softener and I finally convinced product support it wasn't working and please replace. They sent a replacement and I hooked it up with no problems following the instructions step by step.

Love the water softener in our new home. It is easy to program and quiet. In the first month of using it, it appears to be efficient and the water is very soft. Clothing gets cleaned much easier as well as all the bathrooms stay clean and don't easily stain with soft water

After purchasing this product for my 2000 square foot house and family of three, I couldn't be happier. The plumber who installed the product said it was very straightforward. I filled up the initial salt level to 6 and have been pleasantly surprised at how soft my water is now. After measuring my water hardness prior to this product I had 7 gpg (grains per gallon) of hardness and now my water has 0 gpg. Would definitely recommend purchasing to those considering it.

It works well once installed but the manifold is on the back and the first one I got must have landed on its back and cracked the manifold. Second was ok.
Be Cardiff the bypass valve. You have to pull out the round handle. The diagram is correct but must be oriented correctly in 3 dimensions. My plumber left it in bypass.

Instructions say divide by 17.1 if your water hardness is measured in ppm. Did that, set it to 7 gpg. Tested water 4 days later. Still reading 7 gpg. Moved it back to the pre-set number of 25. Tested water 4 days later. Still at 7 gpg. Moved it up to 50. Haven't re-tested yet, but doesn't feel soft like I'm used to. Unsure if this is normal or not. It's also not giving a gallons/per day used reading, but it does say that can take a few weeks to register. Not super happy with this yet- maybe it will work when I get it set higher, but the baseline setting that is supposed to work definitely is NOT.

This is an improvement over the previous version of this product I purchased about eight years ago. It doesn't have to be monitored nearly as often. On the down side, though, it takes up a huge amount of room in a small garage. If the water inlet isn't in a corner of the garage, it may keep you from being able to park a second car in your garage.

So far the machine is working just fine, the machine is learning our water usage. Put in four bags of salt to start with, the first couple of days it cycled and displayed that the salt would last us 90 days. After the machine started learning our water usage, we have not added any additional salt and it was displaying we had 160 days remaining. My old water softener used about two bags a month. Drastic savings in how much salt I use now.

Stupid easy to install. Would recommend in store pick up. Attempted twice to have delivered, both times delivery people laid it on its side and broke the casing. But good stuff and great phone support.

As most new products it works. It's been running for about a month and seems to work as it should be. Installation was easy. I did add salt to the number 8 before I filled water and then found out I was supposed to fill first and not go all the way. Guess will see what happens!

Product shipped with 2 bad bypass valve o-rings and 1 bad venturi housing o-ring(see photos). 1st unit arrived with broken top and was replaced quickly with new unit. I shudder to think how much water would have been on my floor if I hadn't discovered these bad o-rings. It works well now that the issues have been resolved.

Our previous GE softener lasted 15 years...it worked well...So, when we needed a new one we bought another GE...This model is much more efficient as it does not use up the potassium chloride nearly as quickly as the last model we had.

Purchased the house I grew up.. All the years growing up we had awful hard water, it stained our sinks, tubs, ruined faucets, and appliances... Well the years have past and moving in I could tell the hard water was never taken care of so I had a professional come test our water to assure me in was in fact hard water and to get advice on what I could do for it.. He suggest a water softner so we purchased and installed it.. Spent countless hours scrubbing the years of hard water away on everything just to see if the stains would return after installing and to my surprise they did not! It was a miracle if it wasn't for the softner the hard water would stain the sinks in less than 3! So finally I replaced all the faucets and appliances in our home knowing they wouldn't be ruined by the hard water..
I'm disappointed to say that about a month before my warranty ( 1 year) runs out it broke... Now I'm waiting weeks for my part and in the mean time all our hard work, time, and money I get to watch the hard water stain and ruin. As a young homer owner it's so heartbreaking to see... I understand it can all be cleaned for the most part anyway.. but I depended on this product and hoped for the next few years I can be worry free about the hard water and know my brand new appliances, sinks, and faucets are safe.. Also anyone with hard water knows it doesn't just stain and ruin appliances it stains light colored clothes, drys your skin and hair out.. The side of my house is orange from watering the grass.. So breaking right before warranty and now waiting weeks to have the part that I'm not even sure will fix it is very disappointing... To some people this may be nothing but to me it's like buying a brand new car knowing it's reliable and you'll be worry free for the next couple years and a year later it's broke down and will take weeks to be fixed and now having no idea how to get anywhere!!
